Hi! I’m Prachi. And welcome to the tiny part of the web that I call my own.
I was privileged to be born in a small town of Jammu & Kashmir, which is cradled in the lap of majestic mountains of the Himalayas, in the land of diversity, India. Over the years, I travelled around the country and met lots of amazing people, so I call many places my home. I’m fascinated by traveling, photography, music, writing, art, philosophy, food, and deep conversations. Dinosaurs are pretty cool too!
I have a lifelong passion for science and I love space. I find its magnificence and incomprehensible vastness intriguing. I spend a lot of time thinking about the endless possibilities that may exist, the boundless freedom that yet lies out of reach, and the struggle to exist and endure in the unknown of space. The search for other planets with some form of life, exploring other planets and perhaps one day building colonies on them are some of the things that drive my curiosity.
I started my journey through science when I enrolled in the Physics program at Delhi University, India. But, I soon realized that I liked applications more than theory, so I dropped out and started preparing for the engineering entrance exam. I got accepted into Birla Institute of Technology, India, where I spent 4 years studying Electronics and Communication Engineering. I got my Masters in Systems Engineering from Cornell University, where I am currently working in SEAK Lab as Graduate Research Assistant to get my PhD in Aerospace Engineering. In the past, I’ve also worked for Verizon, IDP, Nirmukta, and traveled to China to develop robots for DaVinci Innovation Labs.
My professional interests include Space Systems engineering, Constellation design, Optimization, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Decision Support Systems and Human Spaceflight.
